Detroit Now & Then: Decay

Sanctuary, St. Agnes Catholic Church

St. Agnes was once a thriving Catholic church on the north side of Detroit. But changing racial demographics and an overall decline in the number of Catholic parishioners in the city led to its closure in 2006. Years of neglect have left the church a shell of its former self.
