Brecksville Veterans Administration Hospital

Brecksville Veterans Administration Hospital was a medical campus in Brecksville, OH. Construction of the facility began in 1956 and it opened in 1961, with beds for 999 patients. Above and below-ground tunnels connected a wide variety of buildings, including a gymnasium, swimming pool, bowling alley, chapel, and patient services. Care was focused primarily on veterans suffering from duty-related illnesses and psychiatric problems.

Brecksville closed in 2011 after most of the services it offered were moved to another hospital. The property was sold to the city, which demolished all the buildings starting in 2019. A mixed-use development called Valor Acres is slated for the property.
