Grand Trunk Cold Storage & Warehouse

The Grand Trunk Cold Storage is an abandoned railway torage facility on the east side of Detroit. It was built in 1928 and vacated in 2002. Sometime around 2005 there was a large fire that caused several floors to collapse.

The warehouse was bought by Peruvian developer Fernando Palazuelo in 2017 or 2018, who also bought the Packard plant.

In January of 2019 a group of explorers were playing hide and seek in the warehouse when one of them apparently fell down an elevator shaft. The body was recovered by the Detroit Fire Department the next morning.
