The Danish Brotherhood is a fraternal association for Scandinavians living in America. In 1915, the Detroit lodge built a hall on Forrest Avenue for a cost of $36,769.81. By the mid 70's ownership of the building had changed over to an African-American lodge, and was later converted into a church. The church, a branch of the Church of God in Christ faith, closed in 2001.
After being vacant for a number of years, the hall has undergone some rennovation by LAAVU Studio, a multi-disciplinary Detroit-based architecture and urban design practice. As of 2021 it is for sale for $525,000.
